We study nanophotonic structures — such as photonic crystals, microresonators, nanowires, and metamaterials — for applications in security, communications, energy, biology, and consumer products. The students can pursue doctoral degrees in research areas like atmospheric sciences, epidemiology, grid computing, pulsed power, wind energy and nanophotonics.
